These are a few comments from some of our members as to their dealings and personal experiences with the club:
“I decided to take part in Triathlon in the first instance to lose weight and get fit; I went to my first session in February 2007 and soon after met up with Grant and Colin. Quite soon afterwards I felt comfortable and knew I had found some lifelong friends. Now I am proud to be Treasurer of G.R.C. Tri and enjoy training with likeminded friendly people, we are trying to establish training sessions which will be there in years to come. I hope to see some new members at training session in the future and hopefully representing the club at events sporting the new club kit (coming soon).”
Robert (G.R.C. Tri Treasurer)
“I started training with the guys from G.R.C. Tri late last year when they still went under the previous guise after being invited along by a friend. Prior to joining I had only ever played football and so had no triathlon experience at all. Immediately though I was welcomed in by everyone and they quickly began to share all their training hints and tips. Since then I haven’t looked back, and I have now completed my first event in Cupar and am reading myself for the next.”

I joined the club last year to try and help me lose some weight. The guys are very friendly and extremely welcoming to all new members, they have a great policy that nobody will be left behind and they are all genuinely interested in helping any members to better themselves. They also have welcomed my 8 year old daughter to attend some of the sessions, truly is family friendly.

“Training is such fun and everyone is so friendly that even after a busy week I really look forward to Saturday morning sessions. I completed my first sprint triathlon on Easter Sunday and have rarely stopped smiling since. You don't need to be an elite athlete you just need to be enthusiastic.”

“The reason why I joined the club was Robert; he kept saying how much he was enjoying his triathlon (at that time I wasn't even sure what sports that involved) so I thought I should have a go and I started training. Everybody was very encouraging, I wasn't left behind even when climbing that (B...!!) sorry lovely (I meant) hill at Beecraigs.”

"During the last few years, I had often fancied trying triathlon, but the image in my head was of super-hard-men/women, and a very tough, competitive environment that I thought would be very intimidating as a newcomer. I got talking to a couple of members at the pool a few months ago though, and they seemed very friendly so I thought I should give it a go. As a new member I have found the club very welcoming and they have been very supportive and encouraging with the training. They cater for all levels from the novice to the very experienced, and are always keen to welcome new recruits. Though there is training on 5 or 6 days a week, the emphasis is on attending what you can manage and there is no pressure to make the sessions. So if you only have one evening free a week, don't let that stop you! I am really glad I joined - I should have done it ages ago!"
